Mindful tango

Meditation in Movement for Two

Mindful Tango is a group programme of conscious dance that goes beyond steps and technique. It blends Argentine tango with somatic practices and mindfulness, inviting a deeper connection with ourselves, our partners, and the music.

Tango is more than movement: it asks us to explore trust, presence, and intimacy. While technique is important, its true potential lies in connection: feeling ourselves, sensing the other, and being fully present together.

Mindful Tango slows down the dance, giving space to explore themes such as self-awareness, giving and receiving, boundaries, or feeling “good enough.” Through guided movement and partner work, we learn to integrate these experiences into our bodies and our lives, making tango richer, more meaningful, and deeply nourishing.

This approach allows us to dance with intention, listen to ourselves and our partners, and reconnect with our bodies, opening the way to dance from the heart. The result is a tango that feels alive, authentic, and transformative, on and off the dance floor.

Mindful tango: The Alchemy of Sharing testemonial

"Alchemy of sharing or how one imperfect tango embrace and one “Oh wow, you really don’t trust me” led me to my first workshop in free dance / mindfulness / body-oriented psychotherapy. In truth, many things led me to this encounter with myself and with others, but that is a story for another time. In my bag, along with a yoga mat, warm socks, and a bottle of water, I also brought a fear of the unknown, a decent dose of skepticism, and of course, mistrust… What welcomed me was a small, warm hall, an even smaller group of people - five women, two men - and our facilitator, an alchemist of sharing and grounding. We gathered, each with our own story (or stories), each with our own burdens. What we seemed to share was only a love of dance and movement - or at least that’s what I thought. I also thought that six hours over two days would be too much.

Now I know I only scratched the surface, and that through dance and movement our bodies found a common language - laughter, a few tears, and so so much understanding and support. And presence.

This is one of the better gifts I have given myself, and I know my future self will be grateful that I dared to take part."
